Selection of these options will be chosen in consultation with the Director of Technical Training through regular tutorials.ДЄccompanying this is a six week block of classes that cover: Students will work on four productions and a film over the year in a variety of roles.

#Stage lighting design students series

The aim of the second year of the course is to enable students to apply skills acquired in their first year to a series of theatre productions directed and designed by professional theatre practitioners as a student вЂHead of DepartmentвЂ™ (HOD). Applications will be accepted after this date, however places will be more limited. We recommend submitting by then if possible to give you the best chance of an offer. The deadline for applications is usually in February each year. The applications for this course will reopen in October 2021 and interviews will be scheduled from November onwards. As a result, students will be ready to engage with the intensive nature of the industry from the moment they graduate.

The course is full time and requires long working hours. The practical training during the degree will be complemented with a range of classes including Theatre History, Principles of Stage Management, Principles of Theatre Technology and a three year Professional Development programme that covers everything from the workings of the industry to health and safety and managing a full time or freelance career.Д¬lasses and active learning through working on productions are supported by an extensive placement programme. The Lir Academy provides training that reflects the best practices in professional theatre. The course is led by a dedicated and experienced team all of whom have had successful careers in the theatre and performance industry. Previous graduates engage with work that is as diverse as the Entertainment industry itself and have secured employment in Theatre, Film, TV, Venues, Hire Companies, Production Companies, Audio Visual Companies, Corporate Entertainment, TV Stations nationally and internationally. The course prepares students for many career paths including: Stage Management, Lighting Technology, Costume, Sound Technology, Prop Making, Set Construction, Scenic Art, Film & Production Management. Please note, this course is not part of the CAO points system. This three-year honours degree is perfect for students who are interested in a career backstage and enjoy a practice-based learning environment.
